Introduction of the Student Affairs Department

The Student Affairs Department (SAD) is responsible for managing the development of the student affairs of Malaysian Independent Chinese Secondary Schools (MICSS) nationwide, with the supervision of the Student Affairs Committee of the Malaysian Independent Chinese Secondary Schools Working Committee. The services provided are as follows: (1) Expand the higher education pathways for MICSS’s students; (2) Assist MICSS to promote self-learning skills and holistic education development.

For higher education, we mainly assist students to apply for universities in China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. In the meantime, we also provide information on higher education institutions in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

To promote students' self-learning, professional and character development, we organise various trainings for teachers and administrators, student arts and sports activities. Meanwhile, we also promote traditional culture learning and organise international interactions for students.


Responsibilities of the department:

  1. Expand the higher education pathways of MICSS in Chinese and English streamed countries;
  2. Provide information, counselling recommendation on higher education learning for MICSS students;
  3. Offer sourcing, distribute and collect the scholarships and student loans;
  4. Promote and enhance counselling education resources. Improve life and career counselling of MICSS;
  5. Promote the discipline work development of MICSS;
  6. Promote the development of dormitory management in MICSS;
  7. Promote the administration and management of co-curricular courses in MICSS; and
  8. Strengthen sports administration and management in MICSS.
